Dreambird Studios debut feature film, #valentinesday, produced by industry veteran, Mark Forstater (Monty Python and the Holy Grail) is set to be released on February 14, 2021. A modern day rom-com written by Sam Dudeck and Nathan Neuman, who also makes his directorial debut, will star Francis Lovehall (Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe”), Tessa Bonham-Jones (Wonder Woman 1984) and Finlay MacMillan (Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children).
#valentinesday is named after lead character, Valentine Davidson played by Finlay MacMillan, whose hopeless attempts of finding love amidst the “hook-up” culture, superficial relationships of social media, and a general ineptitude in flirting, makes for a highly relatable, hilarious and moving film. Val finds it impossible to connect and find true love. Until he meets Drew. Played by Tessa Bonham-Jones, Drew bolts into Val’s life with the gift of true love, unbeknownst to Val and seemingly, herself. Francis Lovehall plays John, Val’s childhood friend who introduces him to dating apps and snapchat with unforeseen consequences.
The first film from Dreambird Studios, a cutting-edge digital production studio founded by Forstater and Neuman, #valentinesday is being filmed and produced throughout the latter months of 2020 in the throes of the Coronavirus pandemic. At a time that has forced the global arts and media industries to come to a halt, the team has navigated their creative development of the film rigorously and safely. By placing the entire production team, cast and crew within bubbles, it makes for a unique filming process that will ultimately produce an original film of its time.
In addition to producing the new film, Dreambird Studios will release a soundtrack through the Dreambird music label LUDO. The soundtrack will discover a multitude of new and unsigned artists and musical talent.
Trailers for #valentinesday will be released soon, with a full release on Valentine’s Day 2021 when couples, worldwide, will be taking part in the day of love at home rather than outside.
Dreambird Studios founders, Mark Forstater and Nathan Neuman plan to give 20% of the film’s profits to two charities that encapsulate the ethos of the company: The Faith Belief Forum, an interfaith charity that champions unity between all faiths and none, and Alzheimer’s Research UK. In addition, all the crew and cast are sharing in profits from the film.
