"All-Male Lives of Y2 Gay"After great success with last year's fringe hit "The All Male Importance of Being Earnest," Wild at Last returns to the Fringe with another successful offering, the musical revue "All-Male Lives of Y2 Gay."

This revue has "Sold Out" and "Extended" written all over it. Y2-Gay: where the singing is top notch, the music compelling, the lyrics sincerely touching, and "the boys are all beefy but fey." Underneath all the charm and talent on stage smolders an intensity that drives Wild At Last to use this show as a fund-raiser for Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS. Apparent in every number is the desire for understanding, change, and love, powerfully, humorously, and movingly enacted.

A fifteen foot long sheer white cloth serves as the only prop, costume, and set piece, ingeniously transformed by the adept company into a table, a veil, a bridge, a blackboard, or some weights, lending an elegance and beauty to an already elegant production.

Each cast member is uniformly solid, demanding attention while (almost) never pulling focus, and they clearly had as great a time on stage as the audience did in their seats.

I will say this: this show doesn't need to seen in New York City. It needs to play in Montana, and Texas, and high schools and cities across the nation that need to hear Wild At Last's call for change, demand for acceptance, and bigness of heart. We are lucky to have them at the Fringe.
